The Shakespeare Club
"Gently to Hear, Kindly to Judge"Membership An application for Regular Membership shall be signed by the applicant and endorsed by a member in good standing of more than one year's membership. The application shall be presented by the Membership Chairman to the Board of Directors at its next regular meeting.
There are 5 classes of membership:
- REGULAR
- An active member who is entitled to all rights and privileges of the Club, and who pays full annual dues and fulfills all other financial obligations. Applications for Regular membership may be accepted at any time during the year.
- EMERITUS
- A Past Club President who is still a continuously active member 20 years after her term of office shall automatically be classified as President Emeritus, shall receive a certificate as such, and will no longer be required to pay dues.
- ABSENTEE
- An Absentee Membership may be given to any member in good standing who is living outside a 50-mile radius from the Clubhouse. An Absentee Member shall be responsible for an annual fee set by the Board of Directors. Alsentee members will not have voting privileges and will not be eligible to be in the cast of a benefit production. In events having limited reservations, active members will take priority over Absentee members prior to the reservation deadline.
- PROVISIONAL
- Provisional membership is granted during the application process.
- SUSTAINING
- Sustaining members are non-active members, with limited financial obligations, granted by the by-laws of the Club. A Regular member with at least 10 years as an active member may apply for Sustaining membership by submitting a written requirest to the Membership Chairman no later than June 30 annually. A Sustaining member shall be responsible for an annual fee set by the Board of Directors, shall not have voting privileges and will not be eligible to be in the cast of a benefit production. In events having limited reservations, active members will take priority over Sustaining members prior to the reservation deadline
