"Gently to Hear, Kindly to Judge"Membership Women residing in Pasadena or its vicinity shall be eligible to apply for membership. An application for regular membership shall be signed by the applicant and endorsed by three members in good standing of more than one year's membership. The applicant must be personally known to members who sign the application.
There are 7 classes of membership:
- Regular Membership
- A Regular Member is one who is entitled to all rights and privileges of the Club, and who pays full annual dues.
- Past President Emeritus Membership
- A Past President who is still a member 20 years after her term of office shall automatically be classified as President Emeritus, shall receive a certificate as such, and no longer be required to pay dues.
- Honorary Membership
- An Honorary Member is one who has given continual exceptional service for a 20-year period. She is entitled to all rights and privileges of the Club, except those of initiating business, holding office and voting. She may pay no dues.
- Life Membership
- Life Membership may be applied for by any member who has been continued in good standing for 10 consecutive years. Unanimous endorsement by the Board of Directors and a majority vote of the members present at a regular business meeting is required for election
- Temporary Membership
- A temporary resident may become a Temporary Member upon the monthly payment of temporary dues as set by the Board of Directors, not to exceed a period of 6 months. She shall have no interest in the management or properties of the Club
- Absentee Membership
- An Absentee Membership may be given to any member in good standing who is employed full time and unable to attend or who is living outside of a 50-mile radius from the city limits. An Absentee Fee will be charged.
- Provisional Membership
- Provisional members are under the jurisdiction of the Shakespeare League Department.
- Sustaining Membership
- Provisional members are under the jurisdiction of the Shakespeare League Department.
